One of my favorite places to go for free quilt patterns that use pre-cuts is the Shabby Fabrics website. I tripped over this site a little over a year ago when I was looking for something quick and easy to sew so I could try out my new Singer. Since then I’ve tried quite a few of their patterns and never been disappointed.
One of the projects on my lockdown projects list was this easy pieced table runner. I got the free pattern from Shabby Fabrics and it uses 5-inch squares which is perfect for me since you all know how much I love using charm packs.
It’s a simple disappearing 9-patch and when you use pre-cuts this thing goes together in an afternoon. (Which is why I love pre-cuts!)
One of the reasons I like to use Shabby Fabrics patterns is because they usually have a video that walks you through the basics. Even though their patterns are easy-to-follow and complete it’s helpful to have that visual, especially if you’re a quilting-newbie like me.
Once you see how easy it is to make that disappearing 9-patch block you can imagine how easy it would be to make a full disappearing 9-patch quilt. Coincidentally, ( 😉 ) Shabby Fabrics also has a free pattern download for that!
